Announcement: Appointment of Dean for the Robert C. Vackar College of Business and Entrepreneurship


I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Giorgio Gotti as the next Dean of the Robert C. Vackar College of Business and Entrepreneurship (RCVCOBE). Dr. Gotti is a Professor of Accountancy and has served as the Interim Dean of RCVCOBE since August 2023.

His academic background includes a B.A. in Economics from Bocconi University in Milan, Italy, an M.A. in Information Systems and Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Dr. Gotti’s prior administrative experience includes serving as the Chairperson for the Department of Accounting and Information Systems at The University of Texas at El Paso and more recently as the Director for the School of Accountancy at UTRGV. Dr Gotti previously served on the Board of Directors for the American Accounting Association, from 2020-2023, and was appointed to the role of Director, focusing on international accounting, while also serving as the Global Engagement Co-Chair.

As a respected researcher, Dr. Gotti has published extensively on topics related to international accounting and ethics in accounting within financial markets. He has multiple publications in the Journal of Business Ethics; Journal of International Accounting, Auditing & Taxation; and the Journal of Accounting and Public Policy among others. Dr. Gotti is the co-author of International Accounting (6th edition), the top selling international accounting textbook in North America.
